OAC - STRETCHING
Oakland Athletic Club feels stretching is an important step to a healty workout both prior to working out and upon conclusion.
Stretching is useful for both injury prevention and injury treatment. Properly stretching prior to a workout increases muscle temperature and flexibility which leads directly to reduced risk of injury. Additionally, increased flexibility of the neck, shoulders and upper back may improve respiratory function.
Cooling down by stretching after a workout is an excellent way to help prevent soreness the following day.
