OAC MAT-PILATES

Based on the Pilates exercise system, this class uses a series of controlled movements engaging your body and mind to improve flexibility and strength without building bulk.

This method of body conditioning builds strong postural and abdominal muscles through a unique series of mat exercises. Each exercise stretches and strengthens your muscles while opening your joints and releasing tension. The technique itself is founded on a set of principles which works the whole body in balance, co-ordinating the upper and lower musculature with the body's center. This can often dramatically improve strength, flexibility, posture, and coordination. Pilates has been effective in eliminating back ache, slumped shoulders, and repetitive strain syndrome.
